Interesting! I'm curious about A Marvellous Light because its content just barely overlaps with some of my own origfic thing, plus I like the author's fic. It's on my long list of books to order once shipping is more predictable...Yours is one among several mixed reviews I've seen, but it seems worth a try for amusement if nothing else?

Nodame is one of my very favorite mangas; I remember not liking the live-action version at all because the casting for Chiaki didn't suit me. (I don't think I even knew there was a cdrama version, but I will never watch it because I only want to see Zhu Yilong as Chiaki and he's ten years too old now.) Absolutely agree on your points about Stresemann etc., but I like best the later part of the manga (the Paris volumes) which has more Kuroki-kun and less slapstick.
