Go Ahead - Yeah Lin Xiao’s entire family storyline is awful, and I was unimpressed with the portrayals of mental illness and abusive relationships, since the intention is primarily melodrama. The way that it’s written his dad doesn’t come off very well for me either. But it really is so good at found family, adoption storylines, and the… legalization of that family relationship? Li dad makes me cry!!!!!!!! And of course Zhang Xincheng’s character in this was tailor-made for my narrative needs. 😂
